Use of VA’s Whole Health System of Care by Veterans on Long-term Opioid Therapy for Chronic Pain

Description: In this Cyberseminar, the presenters will describe the use of Whole Health services among Veterans on long-term opioid therapy (LTOT) for chronic pain who received care at one of 54 VA facilities, including the 18 Whole Health flagship sites and 36 paired VA sites, between 2017-2021. The presenters compare characteristics of Veterans on LTOT who used Whole Health services versus those who did not. Also, a combat Veteran of the U.S. Navy who serves as a member of the study’s Veteran Engagement Panel will describe her transition from LTOT for chronic pain to use of nonpharmacologic therapies, and her work as a certified yoga instructor volunteering with the Veterans Yoga Project.
