David Shurtleff, PhD, acting director of the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), discusses the unique work of the NIH Collaboratory. Dr. Shurtleff is featured in an interview here:

 

The goal of the Collaboratory is to develop the capacity to implement cost-effective large-scale pragmatic clinical research in military and veteran health care delivery organizations focusing on nonpharmacological approaches to pain management and other comorbid conditions.
